Update - 09 June 2003 . 01:54 Ah, Diaryland. You've sat like an old, neglected friend waiting patiently for an update. Very patiently in fact. It's been over two weeks, perhaps three, since I updated last and I've heard nary a peep from these gentle readers. Yeah, love is fickle like that. Truly, not much has happened since I updated long ago. It's strange really. My life activities occur in cycles kind of like the economy. Prosperity is a time of great activity, where my head virtually spins from all the excitement. Then there is the steady period where the events may not be breath-takingly exciting but they're continual nonetheless. Then we hit the recession where events are few and far between. Okay, so that's not entirely true. I mean, I could tell you how my house and property have been reluctantly turned into a veritible 'Wild Kingdom.' How after turning my cat from a cute accessory to a stealthy hunter of field mice we joined forces to fight the evil that is Rodent-dom. I could tell you how I discovered a huge, frightening black snake in my garage while doing laundry and freaked out leaving my clothes to fend for themselves. I could tell you how, a week later, I encountered said snake outdoors in my bare feet and realized he was a Black Racer after he chased me through the adjoining field and nearly to the neighbor's house. I could tell you how I discovered and photographed the most adorable brown rabbit munching clover in my backyard yesterday. I could tell you how I saved a baby brown hare from certain death at the paws and jaws of the Great Tabby Hunter (aka: Kitty). But why? I could also tell you how, after having the story of my soul mate dragged from me by a cunning co-worker I was dubbed a cowardly punk. All in jest, of course, but I neglected to mention how it made me think... I could tell you that I cut off all my hair. I could tell you how it made me feel almost like a celebrity, how it changed not only my appearance but my attitude and outlook as well. I could tell you one of my closest friends was recently published in a collection of short stories and that we plan to trek to the university bookstore to obtain a copy of said publication. I think I've even talked him into autographing my copy. I could tell you how happy I am for him, truly I am, but that goes without saying. There is a slight twinge of jealousy but only because I think of what I've squandered in the currency of time and talent and how I've spent hours, maybe even days wondering what could have, what might have, what still may possibly be... I could tell you all that.... Nah.
