North Carolina Turkey Festival
Yes, we have a Turkey Festival. Every year since 1985 the rural community of Raeford has hosted a festival honoring turkeys. My sister has been nearly every year (and has the t-shirts to prove it) and I've never been. NEVER BEEN. All that will change this year. September 20th I will be festival-ing with the rest of them, celebrating the meaty goodness we call...The Turkey.
Woo-hoo.
Maybe I'll bring the cats. They could be in the parade. Maybe not. It could be unsettling to those worshipping the turkey to witness two mini-predators chasing their revered bird down the main street.
