More random stuff - 28 July 2003 . 15:53
I just checked the mail and *voila!* I found a check from the Treasury Department. They finally processed my amended tax forms and I came out $453 richer. Sweeeeeeeet.
Still trying to get things ready for Heather's arrival next week. Much yard work and some interior decorating left to do. I've still not picked out the color scheme for the guestroom and, once I finally do, I then have to buy curtains, etc, for the room. It's not a great deal of work really but before she arrives I only have 1 1/2 days off work to get everything finished. All of you who work nights (especially 3rd shift) know that the only way to get anything done is to sacrifice sleep and, well, I'm just not down with that!
I don't think my sister likes her job very much. I know her department went all whack on this dress code thing and someone said something to her about a particular shirt she was wearing but they're gonna have to chill. I mean, she just started getting paid and has a ton of debts to bring out of past due status. Once she gets things caught up she can go shoppin' like a mug but until then these chicas in her department are gonna have to put it on ice. Besides, there's 2 chicks up there that weigh about 400 pounds and I've never seen them wearing anything but flamboyantly loud colors in tight material. *shudders violently* Like the one girl, Jenny, who also happens to be the biggest biyatch I've ever had the misfortune of meeting (no weight pun intended there, hehe), one night she came in wearing these stretchy flourescent orange capri pants and an orange & white horizontally stripped form-fitting shirt. I shit you not. She looked like a pile of road hazard cones! Scary stuff...
But I'm not one to talk junk about somebody....
I made a banner (finally) and uploaded the image without incident but I was not able to submit it to Andrew for approval. Every time I tried to submit my banner I got an error message. I fired off an e-mail to Andrew so hopefully we can get this deal resolved. My creative tank is always on empty so doing something like making a banner is a difficult task for me. The actual mechanics of creating the banner are cake...the hard part is finding something to write on the banner. *ugh*
Lately I've been hellafied slack about nearly everything. Like my checkbook. My family and I went to the beach about three weeks ago and I took my debit card with me (instead of the whole wallet because I'd end up losing the damn thing) and I neglected to write down any of the purchases I made once I got home. Things kinda snowballed from there and, three weeks later, I've been using my debit card like crazy and not writing a damned thing down. Now I have to print out a statement from the online banking site and use it with the statement I just received to balance my checkbook. This is going to suck. I mentioned this to my Mom, who is extremely responsible in all areas but especially so when it comes to money, and I thought she was going to make the 2 hour drive to my house so she could kick my ass.
Think I'll go watch a little TV before work. For some reason I enjoy enaging in mindless activities before going to work...maybe that's because I frequently find myself with brain strain while at work.
