Do the Hustle - 27 October 2003 . 09:52
Last Thursday morning I walked out of the office and my car had a flat tire. Wild Man came by a few minutes later and found someone to fill the tire with air and told me where I could get it repaired. So, I leave work with my newly-inflated tire, get to the service station and they told me the tire had a bad seal or some such crap and I needed a new one. *sigh* $45 later, I'm out of there.
Get to the stoplight and see I'm nearly riding on fumes so I stop and fill the tank. Another $15 and I'm on the road again. I'm about halfway home when it happens.
This sudden, loud knocking sound. Smoke everywhere. So $35 to get it towed home...
Turns out a faulty spark plug (one of the Bosch platinum spark plugs I had put in not a month ago) broke and damaged a valve.
My car, my beloved, is no longer driveable. It is no more, it has ceased to be, it is an ex-car...
Other than that (I say that like my car blowing up is nothing) the past week has been pretty uneventful.
We're embarking upon the busy season at work so everything's hustle and bustle and the hog plant. Things with Wild Man are progressing but at a snail's pace. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
