a brief update - 20 June 2004 . 11:25
It's the last day of spring and I've just begun my spring cleaning. Some call that procrastination, I call that time mismanagement. Things are relatively quiet here on the home front. I'm sure that's only temporary, though. Life would be much too simple and, dare I say, less interesting without things turning to shit in the blink of an eye. The main catalyst in my life's upheaval is my 19 year old stepsister. She's basically a decent person but she lacks direction, common sense, respect for other people, respect for property, common courtesy, etc. She's planning a trip to visit her mother & daughter in Louisiana this July. The mother is planning to convince her that it's best if she just stay there permanently. I think it's a capital idea and am anxiously awaiting the news that this master plan has been successfully exectuted. My college application is complete, my entrance essay written, my check made out...all that must happen now is combining the three and getting them to a mailbox. I'm a bit hesitant though. Mailing this application, making this change in my life may seem like such a small thing but it's truly not. This isn't just a change in my life, it's a life changing thing. Something that will forever alter my life's path. I know it's ultimately the right thing and it's truly for my own betterment but... What if I can't cut it? What if I'm not meant to pursue higher education? What if I take this step and fall flat on my face? Determination is good but it's not enough to turn dreams into reality. If it were, wouldn't we all have realized our dreams? Too much cranial activity for a Sunday. I'll think about it all tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day.....
